This notice explains what Cooking It Cookery School (“Cooking It”, “we”) does with the details you give us on cookingit.co.uk, and which cookies the site uses.
Who we are

What we collect and why
Enquiries. When you send an enquiry we receive your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), preferred date, group size, your message, how you found us (if you choose an answer) and the page you sent it from. We use them to reply and to plan your event. The enquiry is stored on our booking system and emailed to us.
Class bookings. When you book we collect your name, email address and phone number, the name of each guest, any dietary needs and notes you add, and for children's classes each child's age and whether they have been before. We use these to run the class safely and to send your booking confirmation, tickets and a reminder two days before the class. Payment is taken by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
Gift vouchers. We collect the buyer's name and email address and, if you add them, the recipient's name and email address, the occasion and your message, so we can issue and deliver the voucher.
Unfinished checkouts. If you type your email address into the booking or voucher form, we keep it with the class or voucher you were choosing. If the purchase is not completed, we may send you one reminder email about it.
After your class. We may send the person who booked one email asking for an honest Google review. It is sent to everyone who booked, only once, and nothing is offered in return.
Newsletter. If you sign up in the footer, or tick “Email me occasionally about new classes” when booking, we keep your email address to send you news about classes. You can ask us to stop at any time.
Events and invoices. For private and corporate events we send an invoice with a payment link; card payments are taken by Stripe.
Who handles your details for us
- Stripe: card payments for bookings, vouchers and invoices.
- Brevo: sends our booking, ticket, reminder and enquiry emails.
- Supabase: hosts our booking database (London region).
- Contabo: hosts the website server (Germany).
- Microsoft 365: our email inbox, where enquiries and replies arrive.
- Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity: website analytics (see Cookies below).
We do not sell your details or share them with anyone for their own marketing.
Cookies and analytics
We use no advertising cookies and no tracking across other websites. We use two analytics tools to count visits and see which pages are useful:
- Google Analytics (cookies
_gaand_ga_*). Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off. When you book, we store the analytics ID of your visit with the booking so a sale can be linked to the visit that led to it. - Microsoft Clarity (cookies
_clckand_clsk), which shows us how pages are used, for example where people click and how far they scroll.
In the UK these run under the exception for statistical analytics, and you can opt out at any time. If you are in the EU, the EEA or Switzerland, they only run if you accept them in the banner. Your cookie choice itself is remembered in your browser.

Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete them, or object to how we use them. Email monica@cookingit.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we handle your details you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
