NO BAKE MALTESERS CAKE

No bake maltesers cake

I think that this recipe would suit a lot of children, as long as the space is quite large! And I think that they will have a great time!

Ingredients:

50 g butter
100 g milk chocolate
2 tbsp golden syrup
110 g digestive biscuits
110 g maltesers ( I used a mix of white and milk chocolate maltesers)

Method:

1. Add the butter, syrup and milk chocolate (broken into chunks) to a microwavable dish. (or a pan on the hob if you don’t want to use the microwave).

2. Add the biscuits to a freezer bag and smash with a rolling pin until they are just crumbs.

3. Melt the chocolate, butter and syrup in short bursts in the microwave (or over a low heat on the hob) until fully melted. Try not to let it get too hot.

4. Add the biscuit crumbs to the chocolate and mix well.

5. Add the malteser and give it another mix to incorporate them with the biscuit and chocolate. Don’t worry if they don’t stay in the mix very well, it all sticks together when it is squashed into the tin.

6. Squash the mix into a baking tin lined with baking paper (approx 9 x 7inch or equivalent). Compact it down well. (I forgot to line mine and it was still OK, but I could have got it out without cutting if I had lined so I will next time).

7. Pop in the fridge for a few hours to set. Remove from baking tray and and slice into squares.
