How to make the best ever Rice Krispie treat!

HOW TO MAKE THE BEST EVER RICE KRISPIE TREAT RECIPE
You will need:
Rice Krispie Cereal
Mini Marshmallows
Butter

Melt 6 tablespoons of butter in a medium sauce pan on medium heat. I like soft and buttery Rice Krispie Treats so I use more butter in my recipe than most other recipes out there,  it makes a difference in the taste.

Add 6 cups of Mini Marshmallows to the melted butter. Stir the marshmallows until they are completely melted. Turn off the heat when the marshmallows are melted.

If you are going to color the Rice Krispie Treats this is when you should add the food coloring.

Add 6 cups of Rice Krispie Cereal to the marshmallow mixture. Fold the Rice Krispie Cereal into the marshmallow mixture until the cereal is completely covered.

Spoon the Rice Krispie Treat mixture into a shallow 9×11″ pan. You don’t need to grease the pan, the butter in the Rice Krispie Treats will allow the squares to easily release from the pan.

Press the Rice Krisipe Treat mixture into the pan. Let the Rice Krispie Treats cool and then cut them into squares. That’s it so very easy. You’ll be done in less than 15 minutes!

The children can do this more or less alone once the butter mixture has cooled. They can cut shapes or dip into chocolate, add sprinkles, anything they want.

This year for Easter, make these pretty colored Rice Krispie Easter Eggs.

First, make a 3 Cup batch of Rice Krispie Treat mixture (3 Tbsp. Butter/3 Cups Mini Marshmallows/3 Cups Cereal). Add the food coloring BEFORE you add the Rice Krispie Cereal. Let the mixture cool for 4-5 minutes. You need the mixture to still be pliable but not burning hot to the touch. Cover your hands with a bit of butter and get  a handful of Rice Krispie mixture and form the Easter eggs with your hands (I find it quite satisafiying). You can make any colours you want, pink, red, yellow, orange the choice is yours.

Have fun!
