Siena's cheese and chilli scones

Siena's cheese and chilli scones.

My daughter Siena is mad about scones and mad a about cheese, so these cheese and chilli scones are heaven to her. She made something similar at school, which later she changed and in my opinion improved it. Whenever she feels like cooking she choose to make these. In fact when ever I have adults for supper or drinks, I ask her to make some. They are super popular with everyone. Try to make these, they are really easy to make and you can eat them with anything, even by themselves, they are super moist and delicious.

100 ml of Buttermilk

200 grs of  Self-Raising Flour

1/2 tsp mustard powder

1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper

1/4 tsp of salt

1/4 tsp of chilli flakes (you can add more if you prefer more chilli)

50 grs of butter

80 grs of Cheddar Cheese

It shouldn't be a stiff batter, so add extra buttermilk as needed!

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees centigrades

Mix all the dry ingredients together. Add buttermilk, melted butter and cheese to the dry ingredients bit by bit until you have a dough. Roll out the dough to the thickness of your little finger and cut the scones out with a round cookie cutter. Use some milk to dab the top of the uncooked scones to get a shiny top

Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes.
